Mine yndlingsrestauranter i Hong Kong

sidst opdateret: 07/04/2018 | 4. juli 2018

Her er min liste over de bedste steder at spise i Hong Kong:

Du kan finde placeringer over hele byen.

Butao Ramen (69 Wellington Street, Central, Butaoramen.com)-En anden Ramen Restaurant i verdensklasse.

It’s inexpensive, popular, and open late. It’s a good little hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

Tim Ho Wan (Shop 72, G/F, Olympian City 2, 18 Hoi Ting Road, Tai Kok Tsui) – This is the world-famous dim sum restaurant located in Mong Kok. Its three Michelin stars imply that everyone wants to eat here and, as a result, wait times can be up to three hours long. The food is worth the wait! (To avoid lines, come in the morning — dim sum is a breakfast food anyway.)

Chom Chom (G/F block A, 58-60 peel St, Central, chomchom.hk) – If you’re searching for good Vietnamese food in Hong Kong, check out this place in SoHo. It serves outstanding pho with richly flavored broth in healthy portions. It’s a popular place among the Western expats in the city.

Din Tai Fung (G/F, 68 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, dintaifung.com.hk) – Another very popular dim sum restaurant in Causeway Bay (they actually have multiple locations around the city and the world) that is packed all the tid. They are well-known for their soup dumplings and steamed pork buns (I loved both). The food comes quickly, the servers are friendly, and you feel like you’re in banquet hall because it’s so large.

Lan Fong Yuen (G/F, 2 Gage street Central) – Located in the Graham street market area, this tiny restaurant is well-known for its milk tea and sandwiches. but come here and get their noodles and BBQ pork — they’re flavorful and much more filling. It’s a popular stop with both locals and food tours.

Tuk Tuk Thai (G/F, 30 Graham street Central) – Also located on Graham Street, Tuk Tuk provides the most conventional Thai food in the city. Their curry, papaya salad, and rice all taste like they were made in Thailand. Be sure to stop here if you delight in authentic Thai food (and something a little spicy).

Lin Heung Tea house (G/F, 160-164 Wellington Street) – Located in SoHo, this dim sum place is popular with local Chinese and seems to have its fair share of regulars who just sit around and shoot the sh*t. It reminds me of a local suburban coffee shop where old-timers go. It’s a conventional place, so waiters come around with carts of food and you take what you want. Don’t expect an English menu, but locals and waiters will help you when they see your confused face looking whatsoever the dishes. This place is great for families and large groups too.

Mr. Wong’s (10 Shamchun Street, Mong Kok, Mr. Wong’s) – A place popular with foreigners in Mong Kok, Mr. Wong’s doesn’t serve the best food in Hong Kong, but he does serve up limitless food and beer at one pris. It’s one of the most pleasurable experiences, with travelers and expats sharing stories and beer with each other and Mr. Wong himself! This restaurant is all about the experience. It’s my favorite value place in Hong Kong.

Ding dim 1968 (Shop A, 14D Elgin Street, Central, dingdim.com) – Affordable and delicious, this dim sum restaurant provides both a conventional take and a modern spin on classics, as well as food that is hand-made fresh daily with no MSG, and great vegetarian options.

This list is just the suggestion of the iceberg for a city with thousands of restaurants, but if you only have a few days and are wondering where to eat in Hong Kong, you can’t go wrong with these amazing places that will keep you full and satisfied.

10 bedste portugisiske fødevarer at prøve

Her er min liste over 10 velsmagende portugisiske retter:

1. Standard Bacalhau

Sund Caldo Verde -suppeAlthough there is some variation in spices and preparation methods throughout the country, the basics of the soup remain the same.

It’s a great meal choice, especially if you’re checking out Portugal during wintertime and trying to find something to warm you up on a colder, windy day.

3. Sardinhas Assadas

No trip to Portugal would be complete without sampling a grilled sardine! This utmost Portuguese snack and comfort food can be found throughout the country, particularly along the coast, where the sardines are freshly caught.

Grilled sardines are a very popular food in Portugal

Roasted whole over an open fire, the sardines take on a smoky, crisp flavor on the outside and offer succulent white meat on the inside. Locals eat the sardines whole by holding on to the head and tail and biting into the side to avoid the bones.

Every year, the Feast of St. Anthony (the patron saint of Lisbon) celebration takes place in June. This holiday is also called “the Sardine Festival” due to the plethora of roasted sardines available from street vendors on every corner in the city.

Head to the historic Alfama district and you’ll be greeted with festive music, dancing, lots of beer and not to mention the grills lining the streets as festival-goers devour grilled Sardines by the bucket!

4. Peixinhos da Horta

Although lots of Portuguese foods rely heavily on seafood and meat, this is one vegetarian-friendly option you won’t want to miss.

Peixinhos da horta translates to “little garden fish,” but don’t let the name deceive you into thinking these are real fish. basic but mouth-wateringly delicious, peixinhos da horta are small pieces of garden veggies chopped up, breaded, and fried.

Fried green beans – Peixinhos da Horta

The name only comes from the fact that once cooked, the veggie bits somewhat resemble small fish.

Green beans are the most standard vegetable to use, but the method is used on a variety of other garden goodies, like peppers, squash, or carrots. It’s a great appetizer to try at a restaurant and is a great Portuguese street food snack.

5. Francesinha

The Francesinha is a quintessential food icon of Porto and makes for one hearty meal! two thick, fresh slices of bread are piled high with different varieties of meat, normally some combination of ham, sausage, and steak.

Is the food in Portugal healthy? Yes…unless you eat this every day!

It’s slathered in melted cheese and flavorful spicy tomato sauce. a lot of often topped off with a fried egg, for a delicious gooey topping.

There’s no doubt that this is one of the best things to try in Porto. Be alerted though; you might want to attempt it with a friend, especially considering that this monster sandwich is normally accompanied by a heaping pile of potato fries and dipping sauce on the side.

6. Bolo Rei

Bolo Rei, when translated, indicates “King’s Cake” and is the much-loved, standard Portuguese Christmas food. Although it’s a lot of common around the holidays, it’s possible to find it at other times of the year too.

Bolo Rei Portuguese Christmas cake

Bolo Rei is a sweet bread made with eggs and filled with dried and candied fruits, nuts, and raisins, then formed into a donut shape and given a generous dusting of powdered sugar.

The a lot of authentic versions are made with fava beans inside as well, but this isn’t as common in commercial varieties.

7. Pastéis de Nata

These delectable egg yolk custard pastries are a staple Portuguese dessert (or snack, or breakfast….), and likely the most well-known Portuguese sweet delicacy too.

Pasteis nata are loved around the entire country

The pastéis (or pastel in the singular) are made with puff pastry shells stuffed with yellow egg yolk custard. The custard is flavored with a bit of lemon and sugary goodness. It’s normally topped off with a dusting of powdered sugar or cinnamon.

One of the top places in Portugal to try the pastéis is in the Pastéis de Belém bakery in Lisbon. This historic venue has been open considering that 1837 and arguably makes the best pastries in the country. Alternatively, head to the Manteigaria chain of stores whose pastel de Nata, in my opinion, are equally as good!

8. Port Wine

This quintessential drink of Portugal, Port wine, is sold worldwide, but there’s nothing quite like trying it in the country of its origin.

Alheira -pølse i Portugal

Velsmagende piri piri kylling

Since I started going to the city, I’ve seen hostel prices skyrocket as just the cost of living in Australia has gone up. even when you element in the beneficial exchange rate best now, it’s just expensive to get a bed here, especially at some of the larger, much more upscale hostels.

However, with a little planning, you can make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck.

The most affordable hostels in Sydney are found in the King’s cross area. An eight-bed dorm starts around 26 AUD, while a four-bed dorm starts around 33 AUD. private rooms range between 80-120 AUD per night, depending on things such as location and whether the restroom is shared or private.

(Pro Tip: avoid the Jolly Swagman! It’s a horrible place to stay.)

I’ve been going to Sydney for a decade and have stayed in dozens upon dozens of places. There are a lot of things to consider when selecting a hostel. The top four when picking the best hostel in Sydney are:

Location – Sydney is huge and it can take some time to get around. pick a place that is central to the sites and nightlife you want to see. All the hostels noted here are in central locations.

Price – In Sydney, you really get what you pay for, so if you choose a really cheap one, you’re probably going to get a hostel that is small, cramped, and doesn’t offer great service.

Amenities – Every hostel in the city provides totally free Wi-Fi, and many have a totally free breakfast, but if you want much more than that, be sure to do your research to find the hostel that best meets your needs!

Staff – All the hostels noted here have remarkable staff! They are very friendly and knowledgeable. even if you don’t end up staying at one of the places noted below, be sure to look up reviews to guarantee you end up somewhere where the staff is helpful and friendly! They can make or break a hostel!

To help you plan your trip, here is my list of the hostels in Sydney that I like the most. If you don’t want to read the longer list below, the following hostels are the best in each category:

Best Hostels in Sydney

Best Hostel for budget Travelers: Hump Backpackers

1. Hump Backpackers

I like this hostel because it’s social. The staff hosts plenty of activities (beer pong, BBQs, pancake breakfasts). There’s totally free breakfast, all-day coffee and tea, and different activities every night. The beds are comfy and soft, showers are kept clean, and the room lockers are huge. Hump Backpackers is in the Kings cross area, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and bars so there’s a bunch of things to do in the area.

2. Zen harmony House

The staff at this hostel are the absolute best! They are always the most friendly and helpful I encounter in the city. Zen harmony is close to Kings cross station, and it’s just a 30-minute walk to the Opera house and the Botanic Gardens. safety and security is first-rate, with two locked front doors and safety and security cameras. The dorms are huge (but with only 4 beds for a maximum of 8 people per room), each with its own en-suite bathroom. There are common areas inside and outside for socializing, and they also host daily meditation sessions and vegan nights too!

3. mad Monkey Bayswater

This is another fun hostel, with a very lively social scene! There’s a party every night, a film room, yoga classes, and a rooftop BBQ. Take the spiral staircase to the basement, and you’ll find a fully-equipped chill out zone with pool tables and even a PlayStation gaming area. You get a totally free breakfast at the mad Monkey restaurant (which is delicious) each morning. Honestly, there’s so much to do at this hostel you might find it challenging to leave — but just beyond the front door are some of Sydney’s best bars, clubs, and restaurants. (The hostel itself is on a quiet street, though.) You have to be 18 to 35 to stay here.

Sydney Harbor Bridge, Sydney Harbor, and Luna Park are also within walking distance. The rooms are extremely spacious, and each bed comes with its own reading light. There’s also a large kitchen, several communal areas (including the outstanding rooftop terrace), and even a grocery store on-site. To me, this is the best hostel in Sydney!

5. big Hostel

A budget, “boutique” spot in Surry Hills, big Hostel is a great centrally located hostel. I love the roofing system terrace with its superb views over the city, as well as the sundeck with a beautiful garden. You can BBQ up there as well. The large kitchen has lots of space for your groceries, and there’s 24/7 totally free coffee and tea. The rooms are huge and the pillows are very comfortable but the metal frames creak a bit. They do have lockers though.

6. mad Monkey Backpackers on Broadway

Soft beds, clean showers with great water pressure, and totally free breakfasts make mad Monkey Backpackers awesome. I also like the yoga classes and access to a local gym that comes included in your stay. The staff organizes activities and nights out (including a conventional Australian BBQ). one of the downsides is that the common areas and kitchen are small. It’s nearly impossible to cook while others are around. but the central location, friendly staff, and awesome amenities make this one of my favorite places to stay. Note: only guests ages 18-35 are allowed.

7. Wake Up! Sydney Central

Vågn op! is in numerous ways a hotel, but for backpackers. With its eight floors, hyper-trendy and clean look, and small common areas, you might think it would be hard to meet people. The large size does make it sort of hard to meet people outside the common areas or your room, but the big bar/nightclub downstairs gives ample opportunity to meet all the people you see coming and going.

I really liked my time here, and I especially delighted in the high water pressure in the showers and un-creaky beds. The hostel is located just next to the central station so it’s easy to get to and from the airport. book directly to save some money as they often have deals.

9. 790 on George

790 on George, is (unsurprisingly) located best on George Street, Sydney’s main thoroughfare. The hostel is just steps away from the central train station as well as Chinatown (perfect for those late night, tasty cheap eats). There’s also a tram stop best out front for traveling around the city.

Dethostel itself has everything you need, from a fully stocked kitchen and totally free breakfast, to two common rooms (a games room and a TV room) and social events. another good perk is that checkout isn’t until 11 am, so you can sleep in a bit even on your last morning here.

Ljubljana: 25 bedste ting at gøre & steder at tjekke

For mere info, tjek Ljubljana Free Tour.

Plan: 11:00 (daglige; eftermiddagsture tilføjes i spidsbelastede måneder)

BANGKOK airport TO CITY CENTER: Silom & Khao San road

known for its distinctly spicy yet delicious cuisines, age-old temples, and backpacking streets, it’s no wonder why Bangkok is one of the most checked out cities in Asia. Strategically situated along the “Banana Pancake Trail”, Thailand enjoys the influx of tourists along with its benefits such as keeping the existing different service markets flourish and encouraging the establishment of new ones.

Bangkok as the capital city seems like a juxtaposition of standard and modern. You will see shopping malls, corporate buildings, and hotels interweaving with historical structures like temples and shrines, floating markets, and the famous tuk-tuk. Khao San road is very popular among backpackers and local artists. this one kilometer stretch is lined with budget guesthouses and hotels, quaint shops and cafés, bars, massage parlors, market stalls, and lots of more!

Silom, on the other hand, is teeming with everything that is contemporary — banks and other financial institutions, luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants, and the notorious night scene spot, Patpong. The Skytrain (BTS Sala Daeng Station) and the Underground (MRT Silom Station) both stop in Silom; these two stations are linked to each other by a bridge. Khao San road and Silom are two of the top-ranked vacationer destinations in Bangkok. a lot of visitors book their hotels in one of these two districts.

Bangkok has two gateways: the new Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK) and Don Mueang airport (DMK). The former (BKK) is located 30 km west of the city center and serves a lot of of the airlines flying to Bangkok, both domestic and international. The latter (DMK) is 25 km north of the city center and serves the affordable airlines.

AIRPORT TO BANGKOK CITY center BY TAXI

Most of us get intimidated by taking taxis abroad lest they incur a lot more than what we plan. but taxis in Bangkok are not too expensive compared to other countries; you just have to insist on using the meter.

Upon arrival, find the location of the taxi stand/stop. check the directional signs that read “Public Taxi”.

When you finally spot the taxi stand, technique the desk and tell the staff where you want to go. You can tell them your hotel name and address.

The staff will then give you two copies of your ticket. keep one copy and give the other one to the driver.

The taxi fares from Don Mueang and from Suvarnabhumi to the city center are nearly the same. The travel time is 30 minutes to an hour (or more), depending on the traffic condition. The fare can range from ฿250 – ฿400 plus ฿50 surcharge.

Notes:

Surcharge is collected PER RIDE, not per person.

If you are coming from Suvarnabhumi Airport, you need to pay additional ฿75 expressway toll fees.

SUVARNABHUMI airport TO CITY CENTER

Coming from Suvarnabhumi, the most recommended way to reach the city center is through the airport RAIL LINK.

WHAT DOES travel imply TO YOU?

Last Updated: 8/5/2019 | August 5th, 2019

A few years ago, I went around the world as well as asked people what travel implied to them. As I travel the country on my present book trip as well as hear everyone’s reasons for travel, I’m reminded of that experience.

Travel implies something different to every single person in the world.

There are a million as well as one reasons to travel. numerous people travel the world to get the bug out of their system, or to inspect things off a listing to state they’ve been there as well as done that. Some run to getaway their problems. Some people travel just to get drunk around the world.

For me, travel implies numerous things. travel is freedom. It’s about being able to do what I want as well as fill my day with excitement. travel was an escape. travel was “elsewhere”. That location where interesting things as well as people resided. It was escaping the Matrix to discover about the world, why people do what they do, as well as exactly how they act. It’s about pushing myself to the limit as well as getting much more comfortable in my own skin.

But I wondered what motivates other people to do the same.

I have my theories of course.

But I wished to hear it from people directly.

So, during an prolonged trip, I asked people I satisfied on the road one question:

“What does travel imply to you?”

And right here is what they said:

I liked hearing everyone’s answers since it so accurately explains all the different reasons that push us to travel the world, discover about the people in it, as well as ourselves.
